PAOLO BIGAZZI
Critics
Lilly's azaleas, and hydrangea's: you could say that Paolo Bigazzi is the painter of plants and flowers. His art is armonic and mayge even "musica", but also hides lots of secrets meanings. As we can see he never paints actual landscapes but always a nature from internal point of view, with walls, houses, over wich sometimes you can see the sea or the beautiful Tuscan sky. The heart of his paintings i sthe vivid colours of the flowers but also the contrasts between the hard stone and the brick and the fragile delicate flowers; or the red and dry roofs and the green fresh leafs, so there is always this melancholic contradiction behind Paolo Bigazzi's art that at first looks so happy and radiant. Also we can see the that these beautiful flowers are alway "trapped" in vases and never grow out of the ground, as if Bigazzi is putting limits to them.
His art is delicate and festive, that in rare and soft way captures people's eyes. Bigazzi is also a painter with a hstory; he was borni and grew in Livorno, the city of the Macchiaioli's, the most important painting schoolo in the '800. In fact in his art we can recognize a Mediterranean touch of those time; were the coour is the protaognist. Paolo Bigazzi is not a fast painter, he is precise and costructive. His art is unmistakable, recognizable by his use of colour, his pink's and violets. And this is why Bigazzi is the painter of plants and flowers.
