Critics
The Macchiaioli on Postmacchiaioli tradition goes fron Livorno ti Levanto, throught Versilia and Cinque Terre. The Macchia painters, named like this on 1862, come before expressionism. Critics have not spoken about them for a long time. But they followed their love for colour and light Impressionism, their love for easy life for landscape, their principal subject. Antonio Sbrana belongs to this branch of Tuscany Art (favourite of Fontani, Guidi, March, Natali) (Raffaello Bertoli)
"He is a solar painter of bright mixtures, immediate solutions, sudden horizons that open up on the typical hills of Tuscany. Sbrana's paintings is immediately readable, it talks about a world that surrounds us, about antique things, about tastes combined to things". (Bruno Cosignani)
"Sbrana distils for us his liqueur, the elixir of good things". (Raffaello Bertoli)

Deodato Arte
A picture of Sbrana is able to talk. Every day, it tells us something. Every time we look at it, it smiles back at us, it involves us, it reassures us. It's impossible to get out of a Sbrana's picture and feel something negative. Each Sbrana's picture is a window on the country, on the nature of Tuscany, on real life; the one that, due to the running up and down, escapes from the fire of our mind.
An advice from Deodato Arte Applicata: move a piece of furniture, hang one of Sbranas pictures; open up a window on the hills that he brings to us.
