Mario Marcucci was a self-taught, refractory to any post within the artistic currents of the first half of the twentieth century, who developed and maintained a personal pictorial language, influenced primarily by cultural exchanges with important personalities of Italian culture. To inspire his work was the landscape Viareggio, or the land of his birth, with its colors and its atmosphere, that represented the artist for a constant reference point. Through a careful modulation of light and color, He reproduced streets, squares, pine, marine, views of citizens, but also still lifes, investigating these places all the possible variations of a tonal language, and thus make his inner feelings. The exploration of color is almost an obsession Marcucci, which led him to pursue his artistic experiments using materials as diverse as support for its production in oil or watercolor. The color is for him a means to capture the forms of reality as represented by him, characterized by highly personal interpretation.
